


NP1: Ärztekammer Schleswig-Holstein
As a statutory corporation Schleswig-Holstein Medical Association is responsible for safeguarding the professional interests of medical doctors in the state of Schleswig-Holstein. It is therefore a competent reference for all matters relating to the medical profession, including basic and advanced training and can provide DAILY SDM with sound advice during the project phase. Ärztekammer SH will also play a key role for sustainability, especially regarding the upkeep of project goals after the end of the project period. As network partner in the DAILY SDM project Ärztekammer Schleswig-Holstein will offer input and be responsible for the following measures and activities: •Quality Assurance, including quality measurements and result indicators •Dissemination of project activities and project results •Inclusion of SDM in official training and education programs for medical doctors, resulting in CME credits (Continued Medical Education) for SDM training activities Basic and advanced Training courses


NP2: FH Kiel University of Applied Sciences, Fachbereich Medien
FH Kiel is the largest university of applied sciences in Schleswig-Holstein, employing a staff of 470, 140 of whom are professors, and featuring a student body of 8,000. The media department at Kiel University of Applied Sciences offers courses in multimedia production, media conception, public relations, and corporate communication, applied communication science, as well as journalism and media management, featuring professors and lecturers who are proven experts in the fields of multimedia and e-learning and who are available to advise DAILY SDM. With its expertise and equipment, the Multimedia Production course in particular can make an important contribution to the multimedia implementation of project-specific content. This includes, for example, graphic implementations within SDM decision aids, educational material and digital tools to support communication in healthcare. Questions about the public impact of individual ideas are also dealt with. These are complex tasks that require a continuous correlation of different kinds of knowledge. Only by coordinating a number of individual factors is it possible to convey messages in a targeted manner and achieve the intended impact. This creates a win-win situation for the teaching staff at FH Kiel as well as for the project.

NP3: Kræftens Bekæmpelse
Kræftens Bekæmpelse, Patientstøtte & Frivillig Indsats (Fighting against cancer, Patient Support & Voluntary Efforts) is by far the largest Danish Cancer Society. It aims to unite the entire population in a strong, active effort against cancer. Kræftens Bekæmpelse has more than 400,000 members, almost 45,000 volunteers, and 690 full-time employees. Kræftens Bekæmpelse's history of supporting patient empowerment and patient centered communication makes this organisation a prime candidate for furthering Shared Decision Making. The DAILY SDM project and the Danish Cancer Society will greatly support each other in their common goal to put the patient first. In the DAILY SDM project, Kræftens Bekæmpelse’s efforts will be led by the Patient Support & Volunteer Unit Coordinator. Kræftens Bekæmpelse will be primarily involved in the following activities: •Recruiting patients and relatives •Public Relations activities, including their own Newsletter •Feedback on Decision Aids as well as SDM training activities and results

NP4: Mamazone Ostholstein
Mamazone - women and research against breast cancer e.V. is non-profit organization founded in 1999. It is the largest and most active patient initiative for breast cancer in Germany. Mamazone has some 1800 members and features a scientific advisory board of 28 international experts in the field of mammary carcinoma. Mamazone’s mission is to bring together breast cancer patients, medical doctors and scientists in order to improve quality of life for women suffering from this affliction. Mamazone is committed to improving quality in diagnostics, therapy and aftercare, promotes patient empowerment, and supports research and networking. By integrating Mamazone as a network partner, the DAILY SDM project gains access to a large number of people who either have cancer themselves or have a lot of experience in therapy and in dealing with patients. In addition, Mamazone already has a large network of its own, directly supporting the goals of DAILY SDM. Mamazone will also contribute to medium and long-term sustainability by acting as a multiplier for project results. Mamazone’s tasks in the project will include, but are limited to the following: •Recruiting patients •PR activities (including own Magazine) •Feedback on Decision Aids and especially on SDM face-to-face training •Dissemination and distribution of project results

NP5: Imland Klinik
Imland Klinik Rendsburg is a northern German hospital situated in the Rendsburg-Eckernförde district of the Interreg Deutschland-Danmark region. Imland Klinik Rendsburg encompasses 18 medical departments and features 780 beds, and 2.000 employees, caring for 45.000 patients each year. The Imland-Klinik Rendsburg has the following departments: General and visceral surgery, anesthesia and pain therapy, gastroenterology, vascular and thorax surgery, geriatrics, gynaecology and obstetrics, internal medicine, intensive care, cardiology, pediatrics, neurology, neurosurgery, oncology, orthopedics, trauma surgery, pneumology, psychiatry and psychosomatics, radiology, neuroradiology, nuclear medicine, and urology. Imland Klinik Rendsburg and its dedicated staff represent an enormous pool of medical expertise, clinical experience, and nursing competency directly applicable to the DAILY SDM project. The clinical personnel have also demonstrated a unique open-mindedness towards being part of new experiences and improving their communication skills regarding their interactions with patients and family members. While the entire hospital is a network partner for the proposed project, the department of urology will take lead regarding decision aids and staff training.
NP6: Ministerium für Bildung, Wissenschaft und Kultur Schleswig-Holstein
Ministerium für Allgemeine und Berufliche Bildung, Wissenschaft, Forschung und Kultur SH is Schleswig-Holstein’s Ministry for general and professional education, science, research, and cultural affairs. The ministry would like to make their experience and expertise available to the DAILY SDM project in order to help optimize communication in the healthcare sector for the benefit of patients and medical personnel. In the view of the ministry, a binational cooperation leads to a clear added value in the area of shared decision making. The ministry with its politicians and scientific staff is particularly looking forward to the cross-border cooperation with the Danish project partners and a long-term exchange with regard to the common goal. The ministry is also very much interested in strengthening the existing political and scientific ties between southern Denmark and northern Germany, as well as creating new strategic partnerships as a foundation for continued and solidified cross-border cooperation.

NP7: Schleswig-Holsteinische Krebsgesellschaft
Since 1953, the Cancer Society Schleswig-Holstein has been committed to improving care and support for cancer patients and their families. A fundamental aspect in achieving this goal is improving doctor-patient communication as well as informing and empowering patients. The cooperation with SHKG gives DAILY SDM access to a large pool of patients and to many years of experience in the areas of communication, education, training and care. These areas have a significant impact on communication training for medical staff and on developing decision aids for patients. SHKG’s tasks in the scope of the DAILY SDM project include, but are not limited to recruiting patients, raising awareness in key demographics, educating patients and family members, and providing feedback to project activities and results.

NP8: Selbsthilfe-Bund Blasenkrebs e.V.
The Bladder Cancer Self-Help Association has dedicated itself to providing a national platform for women and men suffering from bladder cancer to further the exchange of experiences and information about the disease and treatment options. The Bladder Cancer Self-Help Association provides information, advice and support to those affected, relatives and interested parties. ShB Blasenkrebs participating as a network partner gives DAILY SDM access to relevant oncological patients, relatives, and their experiences. The Self-Help Association for Bladder Cancer will primarily contribute by offering their experience to the project and helping to set up an SDM network. ShB’s task in DAILY SDM include recruiting bladder cancer patients, raising awareness in key demographics, dissemination of results in social and traditional media, educating patients and family members, and providing feedback.
NP9: Techniker Krankenkasse Schleswig-Holstein (TKK)
With more than ten million members, Techniker Krankenkasse (TKK) is Germany’s largest health insurance company. Techniker Krankenkasse plays a pioneering role in many aspects regarding renewal and modernization of the healthcare landscape. TKK vehemently advocates digitization and innovation and was the first health insurance company in Germany to provide members with electronic health records. It is therefore an ideal partner for the DAILY SDM project that can help integrate modern shared decision-making processes as well as digital communication and decision-making tools into regular healthcare. TKK will also support the DAILY SDM project and Shared Decision Making activities by advocating reimbursement for SDM on a larger scale.
NP10: Danske Patienter, Videnscenter Brugerinddragelse ViBIS
Danske Patienter og ViBIS is an umbrella organization of patient associations. ViBIS stands for Videnscenter for Brugerinddragelse i Sundhedsvæsenet, meaning knowledge center for user involvement in healthcare. Danske Patienter og ViBIS communicates with political decision-makers with the goal of making patients' voices heard and improving the social situation for patients. The constant dialogue with authorities and decision-makers at national level, in regions and communities is at the center of the activities of this organization. Through the combined wealth of experience of patients, relatives and negotiations with politicians, Danske Patienter brings substantial expertise and practical knowledge to DAILY SDM. In the DAILY SDM project, Danske Patienter og ViBIS will primarily take part in the following tasks: •Recruiting patients to take part in the DAILY SDM project, offer advice and give feedback •Help and support in contacting relevant politicians and decision-makers •Public Relations activities, including their own newsletter and their own network
NP11: NSR Sygehuse Sjælland
Næstved-Slagelse-Ringsted Hospitals (NSR-Hospital) is a hospital unit in the Region of Sjælland. Næstved Sygehus is a highly specialized hospital, patients from the entire region are referred to. Slagelse Hospital is one of Regions Sjælland’s Emergency Hospitals. Ringsted Hospital handles the entire region's surgical treatment regarding breast diseases. Throughout the hospital unit an effort is made to improve patient communication. NSR Hospital features the following departments: Emergency care, anesthesiology, pediatrics, physiotherapy, gynecology and obstetrics, clinical biochemistry, microbiology, palliative care, surgery, nephrology, orthopedics, center for multimorbidity and chronic illnesses. In the DAILY SDM project Næstved-Slagelse-Ringsted Hospitals engage as a network partner, offering access to relevant patients and medical staff. NSR will assist us in testing new forms of SDM interventions, including decision aid and support tools under development and shared decision making education for medical doctors, nurses and clinical personnel.

NP12: Friklinikken Region Syddanmark
Friklinikken in the Region of Syddanmark is a public clinic founded in 2002 with the aim of caring for patients who are not adequately cared for by the general healthcare system. Friklinikken’s vision of desirable healthcare is based on equality, coherence, quality and responsibility. Friklinikken focuses on patient rights and the dialogue between patients and healthcare providers. This makes them an efficient and valuable partner for shared decision making concerns and the DAILY SDM project. Friklinikken in the Region of Southern Denmark will contribute as a network partner in the DAILY SDM project on shared decision making in Denmark and Germany. Friklinikken provides access to a pool of patients and care experience that differs drastically from those offered by the regular healthcare system, allowing the DAILY SDM project to expand into a hitherto largely ignored, but vital patient clientele.

NP13: Kiel Scientific
KielScientific is a Schleswig-Holstein start-up company that specializes in advising projects in the fields of medicine, medical technology and communication in the healthcare sector. In addition to consulting expertise, Kiel Scientific has a broad network of companies and organizations of its own, which is available to the DAILY SDM project when setting up a shared decision-making network. Kiel Scientific’s tasks, activities, and responsibilities include, but are not limited to providing advice and support in developing digital communication tools and decision aids, conducting public relations activities, opening their professional network to the DAILY SDM project, and disseminating relevant project results.

NP14: Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel
Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel (CAU) was founded in 1665. It is Schleswig-Holstein’s oldest and biggest university. CAU features a staff of 3,300, employs more than 400 professors, and has 28,000 students. The academic chair for technology management has a vast experience in research on the acceptance and adoption of disruptive innovation in medicine, as well as cross-industry disruptive service innovations. CAU is convinced that international cooperation can lead to significant added value in the area of shared decision making and will therefore make their experience and expertise available to DAILY SDM and support the project from the standpoint of scientific research.

NP15: Patient- og Pårørenderåd på Vejle Sygehus
The Patient and Relatives Council (Patient- og Pårørenderåd, PPR) at Vejle Hospital was established in 2012 to give patients and relatives a voice. There are many questions that patients and their relatives have, such as: what information do I personally need when making a decision about my treatment? The patients and relatives’ council embodies the knowledge gained by a huge number of personal experiences in the healthcare system from the point of view of a patient. Patient- og Pårørenderåd has the expertise and experience necessary for evaluating the degree of necessary shared decision making, which is used by the medical staff. They will also give us hints for the development of effective and engaging SDM material, as well as feedback on decision aids.
NP15: Patient- og pårørenderåd ved Sydvestjysk Sygehus
The Patient- og pårørendepanel ved Sydvestjysk Sygehus is the patients’ and relatives’ council at Sydvestjysk hospital in Esberg. Patient- og pårørendepanelet ved Sydvestjysk Sygehus supports patients and their families and makes sure that their voices are heard in the hospital administration. PPE finds the idea of collaboration to promote Shared Decision Making as a basic patient right very enriching and would be happy to be part of the larger network around joint decision-making that the DAILY SDM project and team is setting up. As a patient and relative representative, especially the PPR coordinator Kai Bayer has a lot of experience with communication in hospitals from a variety of different perspectives. Patient- og pårørendepanel ved Sydvestjysk Sygehus is looking forward to contributing their ideas, feedback and expertise of being a patient and relative at a southern Danish hospital. In addition, the PPR coordinator fluently bilingual and an experienced cultural mediator, making the cooperation a win-win situation for both the PPR and the DAILY SDM project.

NP16: Region Sjælland - Sundhedsstrategisk Planlægning
Region Zealand is the responsible body for the public hospitals in the region and thus also for their professional development. The network partner in DAILY SDM is the Department for "Health Strategic Planning" (SSP). The specialists based here work with user involvement in relevant processes, including the involvement of patients and relatives in the hospitals in the region. In addition, regional Shared Decision Making is coordinated from here, which aims to promote SDM in both the somatic and psychiatric hospitals in the Region of Zealand.
